The Financial Crisis, Who to Forgive?

During the past two weeks I have been working hard at remaining stress-free
,
with regard to the financial situation of the United States as well as the international community.

Last week I shared with you a few things - repeated here,  that I depend on for staying light and potent.
  • Deep Breathing
  • Thinking from LOVE
  • Getting totally PRESENT
  • Being GRATEFUL (for all the other blessings of life)
  • Getting in ACTION (in service to someone else)

Now I'd like to share this 8 step process that  helped me through the challenge.

It's about taking action and DOING something tangible about the situation.

This process can be applied to any situation, really.

In your forgiveness journal:
  1. Write a few paragraphs on who/what you believe is responsible for the crisis
  2. Write any ideas for handling the situation in terms of response to the responsible parties
  3. Write any ideas for responding to the situation - personal management of finances, household, spiritual and resources you can tap into
  4. Write a list of 10 words that describe your emotions about the matter...i.e. anger, frustration, anxiety, etc
  5. Answer this question with a written answer:  What can this event teach me?
  6. How can I turn this into an opportunity for growth - personal and financial?
  7. Create a plan, list of action steps - with dates, for items# 2,3,5,6
  8. Implement action items.
Writing is therapeutic.  It's empowering too because as you write a first idea, suddenly the flood gates will open and you'll find yourself clearing your mind and heart of "stuff."

The negative stuff is clogging your creative, productive juices and adding to emotional slumps.

The positive stuff is great ideas that may never get the bright light of consciousness if you don't see them on paper.

Working things out on paper - or if you insist, on computer is a tried and true method of moving forward.

And that's the whole idea isn't it?  To not get stuck thinking or lamenting ANY situation?

Lighten the burden so you can move forward, free to create and free to be at peace.
